Shalom Uvracha Primer express and online workbook
Students learn to match Hebrew symbols and sounds, blend consonants with vowels, build syllables, and decode complete words. Playful characters, engaging activities, and amusing photographs teach modern Hebrew words for sight-reading and whole word recognition.
Hebrew 3 Bet
Hineni 1 Text & Hineni 1 workbook (Students own and write in the workbook)
Includes the opening prayers in the Shabbat Morning Service and prayers and blessings for the home, including Shabbat and the holidays. Students examine the themes of the prayers and their links to Jewish values. The Hineni 1 CD, a fun & colourful interactive CD students can use to practice at home is available through the school. This stream also includes Introduction to Conversational Hebrew: Ulpan Alef
Hebrew 4 Bet
Hineni 2 Text & Hineni 2 Workbook (Students own and write in the workbook)
Hineni 2 continues study of the prayer service with the Shabbat morning Amidah and selected prayers for Friday night. Students learn over 90 key prayer words and 30 roots, prefixes, and suffixes as they explore the meaning of the blessings of the Amidah (Avot, Avot Ve’imahot, G’vurot, K’dushah, Hoda’ah, Birkat Shalom), Oseh Shalom, and prayers and songs for Friday night (L’chah Dodi, V’shamru, Shalom Aleichem). Then students examine the themes of each prayer and relate each theme to their own experiences and lives. Hineni 2 CD is an optional fun interactive CD for home practice. This stream also includes Introduction to Conversational Hebrew: Ulpan Bet
Hebrew 5-6 Bet
Hineni 3 Text & Hineni 3 workbook (Students own and write in the workbook)
Designed for students in Grades 6-7, Hineni 3 presents the key prayers in the Torah service, concluding prayers in the Shabbat morning service, and prayers for sleeping and waking. It teaches 99 key prayer words and over 30 roots, prefixes, and suffixes, and reinforces skills to prepare for bar and bat mitzvah, including prayer reading and recognizing Torah script. Hineni 3 CD is an optional fun interactive CD for home practice available through the school. This stream also includes Introduction to Conversational Hebrew: Let’s Talk! Modern Hebrew.
